Choosing the Best Bathroom Vanity for Your Remodel

The bathroom is typically one of the smaller spaces in the home, and because of this, it is important that we find clever ways to maximize storage without losing any of the aesthetic we set out to achieve during our bathroom remodel and doing so means choosing the right vanity for the space.
How do you go about choosing the best bathroom vanity, you ask? Well, there are a few things you should consider as you make your decision.
The Who and What
First, ask yourself who will be using the bathroom and what will it be used for. For example, is it going to be a guest bathroom? Or is it a master bathroom? If the bathroom you are remodeling is a guest bathroom, then it is probably on the smaller side and won’t be used as often as the master bathroom.
In this case, you can choose something a bit smaller with a minimal amount of storage. However, if it is for the master, then you will probably want to go bigger and consider a double sink and some extra storage.
Map Out the Plumbing
Next, you should always map out where the plumbing is because that can provide you with a clear indication of where the sink and vanity will end up going. If you are not happy with the placement, then you should expect to pay out some extra money and time to have the plumbing relocated.
Size and Placement
Once you have mapped out the plumbing and you know where the vanity will go, you can then begin to narrow down your options. You will have a much better picture of how much space you can use. Walk around the area and try to visualize the vanity.
When the door is opened, does it come into contact with the vanity or is there enough room? Always consider the size of the vanity as well as the way the door swings open and closed. You will also want to make sure it is an appropriate size, so you still have ample room to move around in the bathroom. Functionality is always important.
No Wrong Choices For A Bathroom Remodel
After the logistics of the vanity are handled, you can then decide on the color and style and how much storage it offers. When making your decision, keep in mind that there is no wrong choice. Choose what fits and suits the space the best and choose something you are happy with.
