The Four Stages Of A Cabinet Installation
Congratulations! The time is finally here for your dream kitchen installation. Before you begin the process with your cabinet installation contractors, it’s important to understand the different stages of a cabinet installation. Understanding these stages will help you prepare for the remodel and know what to expect. Here are the four stages of cabinet installation:
Preparation is a multi-step process. It starts with the demolition and/or remodel of the former kitchen cabinets. Then the electrical, plumbing, and other fixtures will be installed. Finally, any renovations like installing or removing walls, flooring, or painting will be done.
The next stage is the delivery of the cabinets. The cabinet installation contractors will meet with the delivery team and unload all the cabinets. They will bring them into the space, being careful to avoid any damage. They will also remove and discard any packaging.
Next, the installation will begin. Installation usually takes a couple of days. Depending on the size of the kitchen and the features of the cabinets, it can sometimes take longer. Talk to your cabinet installation contractors for a time estimate to understand the project. During the installation, they will measure, install, and level all the cabinets. They’ll also install any hardware.
4. Punch List
Finally, once the installation is complete, the team will do a full inspection of the kitchen. During this step, they will make what is called a “punch list”. A punch list is a list of all the small details that need to be refined after installation. Once the punch list is complete, they’ll get to work making sure the installation is perfect.
Once they have completed these four steps, your kitchen cabinet installation is done and you can move on to the design features like the countertop, backsplash, and fixtures.
