This should not scare you away, because discovering these problems early can help you avoid bigger problems down the road. But, you should budget for these unexpected changes.
• Noise, and a bit of chaos. There’s no denying it, things will get messy. Of course it will all be worth it once your remodel is complete. But cutting, drilling, and removing things is not a clean or a quiet endeavor. Try to work with your contractor and find out when things will be at their worst, so that you can avoid being in your home during this time, if possible. You should also know that it may be a while before your home looks like normal again. Be aware of your contractor’s timeline for the project, and make sure you are ok with this going into the project.
